In Loving Memory of Roslyn Clementina ‘Nancy’ Sanderson

April 18, 1941 – February 12, 2025

Roslyn Clementina "Nancy" Sanderson (née Medley) was born on April 18, 1941, in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, West Indies, to Uralda and David Medley. She was the second of eight children and the eldest daughter.

Nancy grew up in Glendevon, Montego Bay, Jamaica, where she developed her strong work ethic, resilience, and deep love for family. She had three children with Ronald Harden Harris (deceased 2009): Arthur "Junior" Harris (Donna), Andrea "Sunshine" Wade (Henry) and Paul Menelik "Deacon" Harris (Vickie).

With the support of her cousin, Vincent Gooden, Nancy migrated to Canada to build a better future for herself and her children. Her intelligence, caring nature, and determination were evident in all aspects of her life.

In 1973, she married Owen Maxwell Sanderson, and together they created a loving home for their blended family, which included Owen’s daughter, Dahlia Sanderson. Their residence in Hempstead, New York, became a cherished place filled with love and warmth. Nancy and Owen also played an integral role in the growth of Northwell Health (formerly North Shore University Hospital) in Manhasset, NY.

Nancy was a devoted and industrious woman. In addition to her career as a Nurse’s Aide, she pursued various opportunities to secure her family’s future. She built lifelong friendships and remained deeply connected to her loved ones from childhood.

In retirement, Nancy initially settled in Stone Mountain, Georgia, where she enjoyed time with her family. In her later years, she and Owen moved to West Palm Beach, Florida, where she spent her final years surrounded by love and sunshine.

On February 12, 2025, at 11:55 AM, Nancy peacefully transitioned into eternal rest and was embraced by the Almighty. She is lovingly remembered by: Husband: Owen Sanderson; Children: Tony Harris (Donna), Andrea Wade (Henry), Paul Harris (Vickie) and Stepdaughter: Dahlia Sanderson. Siblings: Monica Harris, Gwendolyn Morgan, Daphne Henry, Austin Medley John Medley, Samuel Medley and William Medley. Grandchildren: LaToya Ferreira, Anthony A. Harris, Sherisa Harris, Donovan S. Harris, Jamila Wade-Mcneish ,Mariama Julien, Khalifa White and Kharon Albert. Six precious great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends who will continue to celebrate her life and legacy. She will forever be in our hearts.

Mom, Nancy, Rosie—you will be deeply missed, but your love, strength, and legacy will live on in all of us.
