Richard Lombardi

January 15, 1938 — March 24, 2022

Richard S Lombardi, 84, of West Palm Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on March 24th surrounded by his wife Kim Wooten and family at his side. Born in Chicago, Illinois on January 15, 1938, Mr. Lombardi graduated from Marmion Military Academy and the University of Notre Dame, where he also played football. Richard as a member of the Northbrook Sports Club won the Illinois State Juniors Singles championship in 1955, he also won, with his father, the Father and Son Illinois State Championship. Later he then went on to win the men’s state champ in 1965. He spent most of his years in the Chicago area where he enjoyed a successful career in the Insurance business. He enjoyed his home in Southeast Florida where he played golf and participated in many social activities. He was an avid Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs fan, he even named his dog Lambeau.

Richard, the devoted son of the late Fred and Pearl Lombardi, is the loving father of Richard Lombardi Jr., Lizabeth (Paul) Rowley, Maria (Joe) Siler, Loretta Lombardi Raunenhorst,  Joseph Lombardi, Weston Thigpen (Mimi), Kelly Krupp, Espinosa (Brian),  and Jessica Censotti (step); proud grandfather of Mathew, and  Alexander Rowley, Madison and Briana Siler, Joseph Jr., Jonathan and Mary Claire Rauenhorst, Lori Lombardi, Kaija Censotti (step), Brooke, Taylor, and Mike Thigpen, Kelsey and Shelby Espinosa, and the late Landon Lombardi; proud great-grandfather of Dominick, Sophia, Jack, Eva, and Younes (step); dear brother of Myra (John) Reilly, Pam (the late Jim) Wenzel, Lore (Bill) Nugent, Fred (Marcy) Lombardi and many extended family members who loved him.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, May 10th, 2022 at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, FL 33467. Please assemble in Lane #1 by 12:15 PM if attending services at the cemetery on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, donations to My Chosen Vessels (mychosenvessels.org) are appreciated.
