Richard Moody Freshley, of Greenacres, Florida, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at the age of 90. Richard was born on November 27, 1930 to the late Mary and Moody Freshley in Mishawaka, Indiana. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Verna Freshley; children, Charles Martin, Brenda Johnson, Debra Robbins, Judi Berg, and Emily Gardenar; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert and Jack.
Richard was originally from South Bend, Indiana. He came to Washington to work for the Boeing Company in 1966. That is where he met his wife, Verna. He was an engineer at the Boeing Company. He retired in 1994. Moved to Florida in 2002.
After retiring, Richard was an active volunteer. He volunteered at Point Defiance Park in Tacoma, WA. In Florida he was very active in Pickleball, getting many games started in different communities. He volunteered at Okeeheelee Nature Center and Cops on Patrol (COP). He was an usher at his church and did other volunteer jobs there. He was very active and loved outdoors activities. Richard will be remembered as a very humorous person. He had a quick wit.
Private services are in the care of Tillman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2170 South Military Trail, West Palm Beach, Florida.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Church International at a later date.
