Pedro R. Batista

April 15, 1934 — March 6, 2025

Lake Worth

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Pedro R. Batista, who entered eternal rest on March 6, 2025, at the age of 90. Pedro, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, epitomized humility, kindness, and unwavering love.

Born in a small rural village in the Dominican Republic, Pedro was a man of quiet strength and deep faith. He built his life on hard work, integrity, and devotion to family. He took great pride in ensuring that his children and grandchildren felt loved, indeed seen, and valued. He had a unique ability to form special bonds with each of his four children—Angela, Bertrand, Luis, and Carolina—and each of his grandchildren—Celena, Chelsea, Gabriel, Brandon, Emily, Eleanor, and Carlos Jose—who all carry on his legacy of kindness, generosity, and resilience. His great-grandson, Elias, brought him immense joy in his later years, as did his loyal companion, Toby, who rarely left his side and provided great comfort.

Pedro was a man who led by example. Although he did not have the opportunity for a formal education, he recognized the value of learning and hard work. He instilled in his children the importance of perseverance, honesty, and seizing every opportunity to improve oneself. One of his greatest lessons was, "Don’t leave for tomorrow what you can do today."

His adult journey to the United States was a testament to his courage and determination. Despite not knowing English, he never shied away from hard work, taking on any job necessary to provide for his family. He even walked to deliver pizzas long before the days of modern delivery services, always embracing challenges with quiet determination.

Pedro found joy in life’s simplest pleasures—playing dominoes, tending to his garden, and bringing laughter to those around him. He was known for his mischievous sense of humor, signature pinches, and bear hugs, which left you breathless but full of love. His faith guided him, and he never started a day without prayer, Mass, or his beloved rosary. Even as his memory faded, his devotion never wavered.

Pedro will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Maria Rodriguez; his children and grandchildren; his sister, Petronila Batista; his brother, Rafael Diaz; and the countless others whose lives he touched. His love, humility, and resilience legacy will continue through the family he cherished dearly.

The family will welcome relatives and friends from 4:00 to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Tillman Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 2170 S. Military Trail, West Palm Beach, Florida.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at St. Juliana Catholic Church in West Palm Beach, Florida, with Rev. Maximinio Matos Sanchez officiating.

Burial will follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery in Royal Palm Beach, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Pedro R. Batista. Contributions can be made online at St. Jude Memorial Page.

Pedro’s family finds comfort in knowing that he has found eternal peace, reunited with loved ones and watching over them with his gentle, loving spirit. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and his love will forever remain in our hearts.
