Patricia Ann Zampi

May 22, 1944 — March 2, 2025

Patricia “Pat” Zampi died peacefully in Jupiter, Florida on March 2nd surrounded by the loving presence of her husband and children.

Pat was born and raised a “Jersey Girl,” the oldest of three siblings. Growing up in Fairlawn, NJ she forged lifelong and enduring friendships. While attending a family wedding in 1962, she met the eventual love of her life, when Bob thought that Pat’s family was stealing their pink ’57 DeSoto. Their romance bloomed while she attended the Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School in NYC, and she and Bob married in 1966. They moved to Rochester where she worked as an Executive Assistant at Kodak. She spent the next 30 years dedicated to raising her five children. During that time, she also obtained her bachelors and master’s degree in Education from SUNY Brockport, eventually teaching Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade at School 44 in Rochester. One of the greatest joys of her life was being Mere-Mere to her twelve grandchildren; whom she adored.

She committed her life to serving others – from Meals on Wheels, to being a Camp Good Days counselor, to volunteering at the Wilmot Cancer Center at Strong Memorial Hospital, working as a teacher’s aide at All Saints Catholic School in Jupiter, and volunteering at Patrick Place hospice house – she always put others ahead of herself. Everyone was drawn to Pat – her kindness, warmth and loving sprit made every moment with her feel like a gift. She had an incredible faith that guided her through all aspects of her life.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years; her five children: Cori (Mike Sasapan), Amy (Brian Welcome), Joanna (Mike Sachtleben), Jason (Melanie) and Jeff (Amy); twelve grandchildren; her sister Maureen (Phil Pryjma); and twelve nieces and nephews. She was so blessed to have so many people to call dear friends.

Pat is predeceased by her parents Luke and Dolly Lydon and her brother Paul Lydon.

The family plans to have a memorial mass for local friends at St. Peter Catholic Church in Jupiter, Florida on Friday, March 7th at 11:00 AM. In addition, the family will hold a second memorial service in Rochester, New York on Saturday, June 14th at 10:00 AM at St. Pius X Catholic Church.

Memorial donations may be made to the Patrick Place Hospice House in Rochester, NY.

The family would like to thank the truly wonderful and caring doctors, nurses and staff at Jupiter Medical Center. In addition, our heartful gratitude for the years of care at the Wilmot Cancer Center at Strong Memorial Hospital.
