Nabil A. Salama, age 70, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida passed away on March 17, 2023. Nabil was born in Cairo, Egypt on November 26, 1952. He is survived by his wife of 8 years, Anna Salama; son, Christian Salama; step-son, Samuel Szwarc; step-daughter, Julia Szwarc; brothers, Emile and Mikhail Salama; sisters, Suraya Zaki, and Mary Salama.
Nabil was a true Citizen of the World, spending most of his adolescence in Paris, France where he studied French Literature and immersed himself in European culture.
During his youth, Nabil trained under some of the most prominent Chefs in Paris which sparked a lifelong passion for cooking and elevated cuisine.
Over the course of an immaculate 40-year career, Nabil held executive positions with Saudi Arabian Airlines and The Waldorf-Astoria New York. Most prominently, Nabil served as a Linguist for the United States Government, where he worked alongside 6 US Generals including General David H. Petraeus.
The U.S. Army recognized his tireless dedication to his country in 2007, awarding him the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service.
Nabil’s exceptional skill and bravery were instrumental in the success of the Brigade and multi-national corp’s Iraq mission. His actions are in keeping with the finest traditions of military service.
A truly self-made man, Nabil held himself to an Extraordinary standard in everything he did. He will be remembered as a loving and dedicated father, husband, brother, and friend to many.
The family will receive friends from 12 - 1 PM on Friday, March 24 at The Cathedral of St. Ignatius Loyola in Palm Beach Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital as Nabil was a huge supporter.
