He came to the US in 1958 and proudly served in the US Army from 1961-1963. Mirko married the love of his life Zdravka Finka in Zadar, Croatia in 1968 and together raised their two sons, Robert and Mark, in Woodside, Queens.
Mirko and Zdravka moved to West Palm Beach in 2006. He enjoyed playing bocce with friends, spending summers in his beloved Croatia, taking short trips with his son Robert, and visiting his son Mark and his three granddaughters in New York. He was incredibly kind, compassionate and selfless. He had an infectious laugh and loved his family and friends with all of this heart.
