Marianne Conroy

Marianne Conroy (maiden name Bartnek), mother, wife, enthusiastic golfer, caring pet parent, cherished teacher, and good friend to all, died 3/5/23 following a brief illness at the age of 92. She was cherished mom to Patrick, wife of John, loving daughter of Lauretta Bartnek, and sister to Paul Bartnek. Mrs. Conroy taught physical education, english, and reading at Lantana Jr. High, Golfview Middle School, and Bear Lakes Middle School, and retired while running the school library, which she built. She devoted much of her life to recreation, and coached the Golfview Junior High girls softball team to the county championship one year. She was known for her smile, modesty, humility, friendly attitude, and kindness to all including animals. Following her 40 year teaching career that began in Milwaukee and ended in West Palm Beach, Mrs. Conroy retired to her cherished Palm Beach National Golf Club, where she made many friends over 20+ years and was president of the ladies league for several years. She was active in golf, fitness classes, dog walking, and gardening until her recent illness. A warm and true light has gone out in the world, but lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.

The family will receive friends 10:00 AM-11:30 AM Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Tillman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2170 S. Military Trail, West Palm Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 12:00 Noon Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, West Palm Beach, the Rev. Ambrose Kadambukatt celebrant. Burial will follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery, Royal Palm Beach.

Friends and former students are encouraged to leave their remembrances
