Our amazing, kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend has passed to her Lord in Heaven.
Laura was a longtime member of the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and School, where she volunteered in the church and guided children as a room mother. She took that experience and built a 40-year career in the School District of Palm Beach County.
Laura’s great energy and delightful personality ensured that gatherings with friends or family were filled with laughter, and she always had funny stories to tell of her many life experiences. She was a force to be reckoned with, as the community she held so dear will attest.
Laura was predeceased by her husband, John (Jack), and daughters, Joanie and Jackie. She is proudly survived and lovingly remembered by her daughters: Donna Courtney (Stan), Kathy DuBois (Mark Sr.), Dr. Jennifer Ruffa (Dino), Kristin Burke (Mike), grandchildren: Michael, Lauren (Trent), Kaitlin (Matt), Evan (Katie), Jessica, Katie (Kyle), Mark Jr., Carson, Sarah, great-grandchildren: Callan, Harlow, Remi, Jackson, Emersyn, Mattilyn, Liam and her brother, Frank Schmidt (Elaine).
The family will receive friends after 10:00 a.m., and a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2024 at Tillman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2170 S. Military Trail, West Palm Beach.
Immediately following the memorial service, friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Laura’s life at The National Croquet Center, 700 Florida Mango Rd, West Palm Beach.
