All Things Kay Marie Recktenwald
Life is like a game of cards. We're dealt a hand and it's how you play that hand that can make all the difference.
This is how Kay played her hand:
Being easy to like and hard to forget
Having a way with words that immediately put you at ease, always with kindness
Enjoying imparting her wisdom, especially to young people
Hiking with her older sister
Watching out for her younger sister
Working hard all day
Shopping with girlfriends
Being a big Celtics fan back in the day
Playing and coaching basketball
Exercising her whole life
Lifting weights in the gym since 1984
Enjoying cooking shows
Being passionate about cooking for husband, family, and friends
Ironing her jeans with a closet full and always thinking about the next pair
Collecting costume jewelry, in particular glass, especially from Martha's Vineyard
Giving generously of her time and money for many causes
Loving to converse, but good at keeping a secret
Being one of the best in all of her many roles: as a daughter, sister, aunt, wife, daughter-in-law, friend, team member, student, teacher, employee, IT supervisor, and volunteer
Meeting her soulmate on the beach and together creating magic for the next 28&1/2 years.
There's a saying that we are the sum total of all our parts, and Kay put those hard earned parts to the best of use in all her endeavors.
Her peace is certainly well earned.
Kay leaves her wonderful loving family and friends with memories of her kind heart and soul.
We love you Kay, and will see you on the other side.
In lieu of donations, Kay would like everyone to do random acts of kindness, as often as possible.
