Joan S. Lewis

March 21, 1926 — July 7, 2019

Joan Lewis,  age 93, formerly of Oakdale, PA went to meet her Lord and Savior  following a brief illness on July 7, 2019 at her home in Lake Worth, FL. She was surrounded by her loving family. Joan was born March 21, 1926 in Butler, PA., to the late Robert and Mary Schroth and moved to Oakdale, PA in 1932 and graduated from Oakdale High School.  After WWII, she married the love of her life, Clifford E. Lewis, who predeceased her in 2004.  She was an industrious homemaker, raising 3 children and working part time jobs selling Avon, working at the local Post Office and the local MD.  She then went on to work full time at Calgon Corp and then for many years at US Airways.  During her time working for US Airways, she and Cliff were blessed with the ability to travel the world.  She was very dedicated to her faith.   She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Clifford E. Lewis and her sister, Dolores J. Scott.  Surviving, are her sister Nancy L Barbish of Harmony Pa,  children  Retired Major Richard L Lewis and his wife Emma of El Paso, TX, her daughter Karen L. Tuminski  of West Palm Beach, FL, and Keith E. Lewis and his wife Debra of Millersville, PA.  She will be cherished by her grandchildren, Kimberly Lobdell, Christin Gore, Edward Tuminski, Father Michael Lewis, Mark Lewis, Cliff Lewis, Amanda Shoff, Caleb Lewis, Noah Lewis, Jacob Lewis, Isaac Lewis, and Karen Hope Lewis. She was blessed to have eight  great-grandchildren. 

There will be a memorial service at the church the family attended for many decades, Oakdale United Presbyterian Church, in Oakdale, PA. at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 16, 2019,  followed by interment at The National Cemetery of The Alleghenies, for both Clifford E. Lewis and Joan. Those planning an expression of sympathy are encouraged to make a donation in her memory to  Lymphoma Research Foundation | Wall Street Plaza | 88 Pine Street, Suite 2400 | New York, NY 10005 . The Loving Care provided by Arbor Oaks Assisted Living in Greenacres, FL and VITAS Hospice Care will forever by appreciated by her family.
