James (Jim) R. Bingham, Jr., age 81, of Lake Clarke Shores, Florida entered into eternal rest January 10, 2024.
Jim was the son of renowned illustrator James R. Bingham Sr. and inherited his aesthetic and artistic eye. He loved to work with his hands, and throughout his many careers as; a computer technician for NCR, the owner operator of “The Body Shop” autobody repair shop, Kitchen and Bath designer for Bishops Hardware, Realtor, owner of multiple investment properties, General Contractor and home remodeler, fixer of anything with wheels, and Jack of all trades (Master of all), he always strived for perfection. A huge fan and collector of cars, Jim always had a few projects in the garage.
He loved his wife Helen dearly, and never hesitated to tell her so. Jim was a stern but loving, and purpose-driven father to his two children Alicia and James. He also had a love and respect for animals, especially cats, and dogs, and had many throughout his life. When asked how he wanted to be remembered, he replied “as an affable person”.
He maintained his independence in his last few years and enjoyed his weekly trips about town with his son James and daughter-in-law Johna, during which he never turned down a good hamburger and of course ice cream. He developed a special place in his heart for Johna, who always had a smile, a hug, and kind words for him.
Jim is survived by his son, James R. Bingham, III (Johna), daughter, Alicia A. Klucar-Bingham (Joey), grand-daughter, Destiny Gregory (Amaury Jimenez), great-grand-daughter, Helia Jimenez-Bingham.
