Gloria E. Sousa

Lake Worth, Florida

Gloria E. Sousa, 97, of Lake Worth, FL and Little Compton RI, formerly of Bristol, RI passed away peacefully on February 7, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank J. Sousa. Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Diamantina DelGiudice. 

Gloria and Frank were business partners in a home building and real estate company in Bristol County before retiring and eventually moving to Florida. 

Gloria had a gentle spirit and a gift for making everyone feel special. All her family, friends and neighbors will remember times spent at her homes in RI and FL, whether for a feast on Christmas Eve, a Fourth of July clam boil, or tea and anise biscuits on the lanai. She was dedicated to her Catholic faith and had a special love for the Blessed Mother. 

She is survived by her daughters Arlene (Myron) Bernstein, Ann (Mike Rosa) Perry and Francine (Paul) Desilets; grandchildren Jeffrey (Liz DiMaio) Perry, Rebecca (Nelson) Dias, Dr. Megan Bernstein, Hanna (Tyler Turcotte) Desilets, Andrea (Tristen) Lewandowski and Leah Desilets; great grandchildren Caitlyn Gagnon, Juliana Dias, Lucia Lewandowski and a great great granddaughter, Vienna Balas.

She was predeceased by her great grandson, James Dias.

Gloria is the last surviving sibling of Evelyn Renzi, Marion Volatile, Angelina Cardarelli, Lucy Russo, Elena Macari, Angelo DelGiudice, Claire DelGiudice, Josephine Colapietro, and Fernando “Sonny” DelGiudice. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 11:00 am, Saint Catherine of Siena Church, 74 Simmons Road, Little Compton, RI. Visiting hours will precede the Mass from 9:00 am to 10:15 am at Fern Acres Funeral Home, 72 Willow Avenue, Little Compton, RI. Gloria will be laid to rest at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 21, 2025 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery in Royal Palm Beach, Florida.
