Geraldine A. DeHaan passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2019.
Born September 2, 1931 to the late Mayme and Earl Warn in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Gerri grew up in Wyoming, Michigan marrying her high school boyfriend, Dave Lagendyk. They moved from Michigan to Florida in 1968 with their 4 children.
With a love for accounting she managed to work full time and still provide a loving home for her family. Gerri remained married to Dave until his passing in 1987. 15 years later she reconnected with Gordon DeHaan, who was a childhood friend, remarried and lived a wonderful life until Gordon’s passing in 2014. Gerri and Gordon were avid ballroom dancers and lived an adventurous lifestyle traveling, cruising and loving life.
Sadly Gerri was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2011, with a slow progression. She moved to North Carolina in 2013, where she was in memory care and close to her daughters. She moved back to Florida in November to absorb the sunshine for the winter and lived in memory care close to Valerie. We were able to make wonderful memories right up until her passing.
Gerri was predeceased by husband(s) David Lagendyk, Gordon DeHaan; Daughter, Christine Zinser, son, David Lagendyk, Grandson, Justin Zinser, sister, Jean and brother, Richard.
Gerri is survived by her daughters, Linda Jacob and Valerie Buckley (Butch), Grandchildren, Kimberly Andrews (Alan), Allen Jacob, Brandon Buckley; Great Grandchildren, Cassie and Brody Andrews; Nieces and Nephews Jim Hurlbut (Francie), Laurie Hamilton (Bob), Sueanne Cmehil-Warn and Steve Warn.
