Flint "Mike" Key, age 71, of Lake Clarke Shores, Florida passed away at home on April 5, 2025. Born in Nashville, Tennessee and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Mike spent most of his adult life in West Palm Beach. He went to Terry Parker High School and attended Florida Junior College before pursuing a career as a sales representative for underground utilities. Mike represented multiple companies including Old Castle and EBAA Iron and became close friends with Mike Smith and the other reps.
Mike traveled extensively with his wife of 43 years, Jocelyn "Jo" Key and a treasured group of friends. He especially enjoyed taking food tours in the various cities he visited, namely Seattle, Paris, Lisbon and Africa. His two trips to Africa being his favorite. Mike enjoyed eating in Michelin starred restaurants whenever possible.
The high point of every year was competing in the Pig Jig BBQ contest in Cordele, Georgia where he had a special bond with all who entered and attended the competition.
Mike was such a class act. He was compassionate, generous, kind and funny, becoming a friend to everybody he met.
Mike was predeceased by his father, Flint Key, his stepfather, Marty Roy and numerous friends from Jacksonville, Florida as well as the Keystone Kop group of The Shriners in Orlando, Florida.
Mike leaves behind his wife, Jo; his mother, Betty Roy; his sister, Kathy (John) MacLean; stepsister, Alison (Glen) Bennett; sisters-in-law, Eldith (Don) Peters and Pamela Macleod as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and countless friends who will miss him dearly. Mike will be lovingly remembered by his dearest friend from from junior high, Ernie Green, who was more like a brother to him.
