Edilberto Lorenzo Vazquez, a loving family man, passed away on July 26, 2023, at the age of 81 in Lake Worth, Florida. He was born on January 8, 1942, in Cuba, and his journey took him from being a dedicated police officer to a cherished husband, father, and grandfather.
After making his way to the United States, Edilberto's life took a beautiful turn when he met the love of his life in 1968, Teresita Vazquez. For 55 years, they shared an inseparable bond, filled with love and devotion.
Edilberto's dedication to his family was unparalleled. He worked tirelessly when raising his children, Michelle Perez and Erick (Elizabeth) Vazquez, ensuring they had a life he didn't have growing up. His own experiences inspired him to provide them with a life filled with opportunities, happiness, and the chance to pursue their dreams.
Edilberto's professional journey saw him establish an electrical contracting business before owning and operating several gas stations. However, retirement in November 2012 granted him the cherished role of a full-time grandfather to his growing family. His heart swelled with pride as he watched his family grow, and he found immense joy in the company of his four beautiful grandchildren: Samantha Migliore, Gabriela Perez, Alejandro Perez, and Logan Vazquez.
Edilberto's selflessness knew no bounds. Always putting others' needs before his own, he was a constant pillar of support for his children and grandchildren, ever-ready to lend a helping hand or share a comforting presence.
With a charismatic personality and a great sense of humor, Edilberto made friends effortlessly. His charm and captivating stories endeared him to all those fortunate enough to know him. The warmth of his heart and his willingness to be there for family and neighbors touched the lives of many.
He took immense pride in his family and home, pouring his passion into countless projects over the years. A talented cook, he would often whip up delicious meals for his loved ones, making weekly dinners and yearly vacations cherished family traditions.
When not busy with family or home projects, Edilberto loved engaging in a game of dominoes, a pastime that brought joy and laughter to many gatherings.
Now, Edilberto has been called to rest in the hands of angels, surrounded by loved ones who have gone before him. He joins his parents, Gumersindo and Eloisa Vazquez, his sister Gladys, and his brother Luis, in a peaceful reunion.
In addition to his immediate family, Edilberto Vazquez is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of Edilberto Lorenzo Vazquez will be held at Tillman Funeral and Crematory, located at 2170 S Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL 33415, from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm on August 1.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause close to Edilberto's heart.
Edilberto's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his legacy of love, laughter, and devotion will continue to inspire all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love of family, forevermore.
