Douglas C. Jenkins, 66, of West Palm Beach, passed away on Sunday, October 07, 2018. Born on July 17, 1952 in Richmond, Indiana to the late Letabelle and Franklin Jenkins. Doug moved to South Florida in 1982 and started working in the funeral business at Village Funeral Home in Jupiter. In 1986, he took a position with the Palm Beach County Medical Examiner’s Office which led to a 32-year career. This gave Doug the opportunity to meet many people throughout the county and state, and lead to many friendships and acquaintances. Doug enjoyed spending time with family going on many vacations and trips throughout the years. He was always up for the next adventure and was never one to say no to exploring a new place. He was a passionate fan of the Indy Racing League, attending numerous races including many Indy 500’s. Anyone close to Doug knew he had a keen interest in fabulous food; he was a regular at the Okeechobee Steak House, where he was well known and would spend endless amounts of time with friends. One could say he also treasured his Makers Mark, so much so that he was a Makers Mark Ambassador. Doug will surely be missed by all who knew him, and we all wish we could have had more time to spend with him. His smile was priceless and his personality was contagious. Doug is survived by his wife, Carol Jenkins of West Palm Beach; son, Richard Jenkins of Jupiter; brother, Steve Jenkins of Richmond, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
