Charles “Charlie” Roussin, 81, baptized into the hope of Christ’s
resurrection, Sunday August 21, 2021.
Beloved husband of Ellen Roussin; loving father of Chuck Roussin (Martha), Steve Roussin, Jim Roussin (Debbie) and Nikki Goderwis (Mike). Also, survived by his grandchildren, Lindsay Rein (Matt), Charlie, Stephen, Katie, Ashley, and Amber Roussin, Ryan and Justin Schuster, and great granddaughter, Bobbi Rein.
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Charlie Roussin following a long battle with an illness. Charlie was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1939 to Charles and Olive Roussin. He attended St. Louis University and graduated in 1969 with a master’s degree in science commerce and finance. He raised his four children in Chesterfield, Missouri and spent his weekends playing golf at Forest Hills Country Club. He was a successful executive who became President of Hamiltonian Federal Savings and Loan and following a merger Executive Vice President at Savings of America. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, John Roussin.
Charlie retired to south Florida. He continued with his passion playing golf, hosting poolside barbeques, and spending quality time with his family. He lived by the moral compass, “It is better to give than receive.” He was devoted in his Catholic faith and supported numerous charities.
Charlie was a kind, supportive, and loving friend to all. We will never forget the warmth, encouragement, and love he gave us all.
The family offers many thanks to the caregivers and hospice staff for their caring and compassionate treatment. A special thank you to Merle who provided unwavering care and support to Charlie and his family.
Private interment at St. Joseph Parish Cottleville, Missouri.
Loving father, rest in peace. You made our lives fulfilled and the world a better place. How lucky we were to have you in our lives.
