IN LOVING MEMORY OF CARL M. FUENTES, PASTOR/TEACHER
Carl M. Fuentes, known by many as “Preacher,” loving husband, father, grandfather, and pastor went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Monday, September 6, 2021, at JFK Medical Center in Atlantis, Florida. Assuredly, angels rejoiced at his arrival. One of his favorite verses was Isaiah 40:31, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Preacher was born on October 23, 1956, to Charles Thomas and Violet Gwendolyn Fuentes (both preceded in death). He was a wonderful husband to his wife and best friend, Monique Fuentes, only daughter, Hyacin Rose (Michael) Christy and his two fur babies CJ and Katness. He was a beloved Papa to his four grandchildren: Michelle (Collin) McFarland, Michael (Lauren) Christy, Meghan (Tristan) Hyde and Matthew Christy; and soon to be great-grandfather to ‘Baby Boy’ Christy. He was cherished brother to Rosa Wiggins, Charles Fuentes, Ramona Lowe, Geraldo Fuentes, Larry Fuentes, Henry Fuentes, Nick Fuentes (preceded in death), John Fuentes (preceded in death) and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He was selfless and loved people; always jumping at the chance to serve others. He always taught that “people are more important than anything.” He was a great example of a man that followed God, and there is no doubt his legacy followed him to Heaven. He encouraged so many people during his ministry with his faith and hope in the Saviour. He was serious about the work of the Lord whether it was preaching, soulwinning, or physically laboring. He never slowed down and loved to sing made-up songs.
On March 31, 1991, he was called to pastor Central Baptist Church with just 13 votes, and that was “counting Jesus.” He faithfully served God and Central Baptist Church as Pastor/Teacher for 30 years until God called him home. 2 Timothy 4:7 - I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
His celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. at Central Baptist Church with visitation from 2:00 p.m-4:00 p.m. All flowers and correspondence should be sent to: Central Baptist Church, 4422 Gun Club Road, West Palm Beach, FL 33406.Sunday, September 12, 2021
