Brian Andrew Record, 46, passed away at his home in Palm Springs, FL, on February 20, 2020. He was born on June 1, 1973 in Brattleboro, VT and resided in south Florida since 1974. He was a graduate of John I. Leonard High School in Greenacres.
Brian loved the natural world and was happiest when spending time on the lake in his backyard. A lifelong lover of animals, he cared deeply for the dogs that were lucky to be his dearest friends. His competitive nature combined with his love for video games resulted in his consistent victory over his sister when he challenged her to an Atari competition. His extraordinary intelligence prompted him to be an avid collector from a young age; his affinity for acquiring trading cards began as a young child, during which time he memorized every word on every Star Wars card he could find. Later, as an adult, he proudly amassed thousands of baseball cards. One of his greatest joys in life was making people laugh and he loved to take part in practical jokes. He took great pride in his lifelong professional work of keeping Florida homes safe and comfortable through decades of employment with Hulett Pest Control.
Having lived with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Brian will always be remembered for his courage during difficult times, his perseverance in the face of adversity, and his boisterous personality that veiled his sensitive soul.
Brian is survived by his mother, Priscilla Record Bartiromo; his father, Douglas Record; his stepfather, Gerald Bartiromo; his sisters, Kaarin Record Leach and Kristina Bartiromo Ledesma; his brothers-in-law, Don Leach and Ernest Ledesma; his nephew, Anthony Michael Sgro; and an aunt, uncle, and several cousins.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at 6:00 pm at Tillman Funeral Home at 2170 South Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL 33415, with a memorial service beginning at 7:00 pm that same evening.
Condolences may be sent to Priscilla Bartiromo and Doug Record at 613 North Legacy Trail, St. Augustine, FL, 32092.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Brian’s name may be made to the Dan Marino Foundation at DanMarinoFoundation.org. The Dan Marino Foundation is a non-profit organization for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities.
