Anne Sturges, age 91, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2021. She was born September 3, 1930 in New Haven, Connecticut to Elizazbeth and Norman Steed. She married her husband of 68 years, Carl E. Sturges on June 20, 1953 at St. Ignatius Church in New York City. Mother of 3, she leaves daughter Carey Fayram and husband Tim, and their two children David Fayram and Katie Skuratovskiy, her son Carl Sturges and his wife Christie, and their children Courtney Parton, Carl III, Christopher, and Charlie, her son Mark Sturges and his wife Gwendolyn, and their children Maxx and Grace. She leaves behind 4 great grandchildren. They will all miss her warm smile, caring phone calls, birthday cards, and never ending back rubs.
Anne consistently sought spiritual guidance and growth in its many forms throughout her life's journey. She loved life and her family, always enjoying a good laugh. Anne loved attending Broadway shows and the ballet. She embodied elegance and style. She made a world famous cheesecake that has been passed on through generations. She was a voracious reader of all types of literature and news, and always loved a good Cary Grant film. Carl and Anne met in New York City for the first time on 76th and 3rd Ave, when she let him into her apartment building because of the cold. Carl and Anne were fortunate enough to travel the world together, including visits to the Vatican in Rome, the Pyramids of Gaza, Israel and many ocean voyages including on Queen Elizabeth II. They most recently visited their favorite place, the Adirondacks of New York State, to visit with their children and grandchildren and enjoy the fall foliage. Donations can be made to the Susan G.
