RICHARD M. “DICK” SMITH Age 77, of Wellington, Florida died suddenly at Wellington Regional Hospital on Wednesday, August 6, 2008. Dick founded Smithco in 1960. In 1977 he founded Dick Smith Air Conditioning, owned by his son, Bill since 1994. During his lifetime, Dick belonged to many local organizations, including Elks Lodge 1352. In the thirties, Dick and his family joined Memorial Presbyterian Church, where he served as a Deacon and member of The Stephen’s Ministry. Dick was predeceased by his twin brother, Bill, son, Steven, daughter, Robbie and granddaughter, Lynzi. He will be lovingly remembered by his family, including his wife, Barbara Barlow Smith, who was his high school sweetheart, sons, Rick (Barbie) Smith, Bill (Kathy) Smith and Larry Smith,, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, sister Sherri (Joe) Stowers, caregiver, Lou Osher and a host of family and friends. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, August 9, 2008 officiated by Dr. William R. Stepp at TILLMAN FUNERAL HOME, 2170 S. Military Trail, West Palm Beach, where the family will receive guests after 1:00 PM. Rather than flowers, please make donations to the Building Fund at Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1300 S. Olive Avenue, West Palm Beach, Florida 33401 Dick is now in his heavenly home, but when he walked through Heaven’s Gate, he left his love behind.
