Elmer R. Harjula

Elmer R. Harjula, age 84 passed away at the V.A. Hospital in West Palm Beach, FL on Monday, October 27th, 2008. Elmer enjoyed working with wood and was employed by Blumer and Stanton Mill Works until his retirement. He was born in Rockland, Maine, the son of Erick and Ida Hall Harjula of Finland. Elmer is survived by his loving family including his son, Alan (Betty) Harjula; 6 grandchildren, Lyndon Harjula, DiDi Johnson, Allison Herrin, Lisa Johnson, Eric Johansson and Keith Johansson; 9 great grandchildren, Sara Herrin, Ryan Herrin, Zoie Johnson, Zachary Johnson, Liana Harjula, Cline Johansson, Leeland Johansson, Dreama Johansson and Jacob Johansson; niece, Nancy Cox. A Graveside Service will take place on Monday, November 3rd, 2008 at 2:30 PM at South Florida V.A. National Cemetery, Lake Worth, FL with Reverend Travis Laney from Florida Gardens Baptist Church officiating. Military Honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army. Tillman Funeral Home, 2170 S. Military Trail, West Palm Beach is assisting the family.
