Virginia B. Lewis Virginia Buchanan Lewis passed away on Saturday November 8, 2008 at The Crossings Elder Care Facility (formerly Bishop Gray Inn) in Lake Worth, Fl. Born in Rochester, NY on April 11, 1911 she lived in Washington DC and worked for the Dept of Navy before and during WWII. Mrs. Lewis moved to the Palm Beach area in 1948 with her late husband Lt. (HC) USN Lazarous Britton Lewis. She was employed by Palm Beach Junior College, Good Samaritan Hospital and JFK Hospital over the years until her retirement. She enjoyed her family, traveling and volunteering at Holy Redeemer Episcopal Church, and will be dearly missed by all those she has touched over her lifetime. Mrs. Lewis was predeceased by her sister Elizabeth Woodard, her brother Richard Paul Partridge and her grandson Paul Britton Ford. She is survived by her two children, Jane L. Ford of West Palm Beach, Fl and Richard P. Lewis (Penny) of Sandown NH; grandchildren Matthew T. Ford (Melissa), Ryan K. Ford (Jennifer), John L. Ford, Seth B. Lewis, Rhiannon P. Lewis and two great-granddaughters Isabella and Peyton Ford. A memorial service will be held at 10:00AM Saturday November 15, 2008 in the chapel at The Crossings of Lake Worth 4445 Pine Forest Dr. Lake Worth Fl (561) 965-5954. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Hospice of Palm Beach County.
