Sgt. George J. Douglas, 82, of Greenacres, Florida passed away Thursday, February 19, 2010 at his Greenacres home. Sgt. Douglas was born October 30, 1927 in Tilton, Illinois to the late George Washigton & Maude Ruth (Montgomery) Douglas. Sgt. Douglas moved to the Greenacres area in 1995 from Illinois. Sgt. Douglas served in the United States Air Force and the Army during World War II and the Korea War. Sgt. Douglas was a retired machanist from McDonald-Douglas. George is survived by his loving wife of 62 yeras, Virginia (Beam) Douglas of Greenacres; daughters, Margie (Dennis) Johnson of Lake Worth, Florida, Janet (Robert) Parvin of Collinsville, Illionis, Judith Davidson of Alton, Illionis; son, Charles Douglas of Lake Worth; 11 Grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Funeral Services for Sgt. Douglas will be held 12:00 pm, Wednesday, February 24, 2010 in the Chapel of Tillman Funeral Home. Visitation for friends will be 11:00 until service time on Wednesday. Interment will follow at South Florida National Cemetery with military honors. Services entrusted to Tillman Funeral Home, 2170 South Military Trail, West Palm Beach.
