Vincent Pulvirenti died on May 6th, 2011. He was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on May 29th, 1916. He Attended Springfield schools, graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and served with the US Navy during World War II. During his service he was a patrol plane commander in the South Pacific and earned the rank of Lieutenant (jg). Afterward, he worked for Standard Oil of Ohio for several years and later worked in land developing and construction. He lived in Longmeadow, MA before retiring to West Palm Beach 24 years ago. He was an intelligent, kind man, who served his country well, was an excellent husband, father and grandfather. Vincent leaves his wife of 65 years, Elsa Pulvirenti; two daughters, Janice Pulve of West Palm Beach and Carolyn Baron of McLean, Virginia; one grandson, David Baron of McLean, Virginia; one sister, Claire Schelb of East Longmeadow, Massachusetts; and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 28th, 2011 at Tillman Funeral Home.
