JOSEPH C. KLAUSE, 85, OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY ON TUESDAY MAY 3, 2011. JOSEPH WAS BORN MAY 2, 1926 IN PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA TO THE LATE CHARLES & HELEN (DONAHUE) KLAUSE. HE WAS A WORLD WAR II NAVY VETERAN, ACTIVE IN COMBAT AND HE WAS THE LONE SURVIVOR OF A PLANE CRASH. IN 1953 HE JOINED THE PHILADELPHIA POLICE DEPARTMENT AND REACHED THE RANK OF LIEUTENANT, HE WAS OFFERED THE JOB OF CHIEF OF THE DEPARTMENT, HE DECLINED AND OPENED HIS OWN PRIVATE DETECTIVE AGENCY HE WAS HIGHLY RESPECTED BY ALL WHO HAD THE PLEASURE OF KNOWING HIM. HE RETIRED TO THE WEST PALM BEACH AREA IN 1980. HE LOVED DEEP SEA FISHING AND BOATING AND SPENDING TIME WITH HIS FAMILY. HE WAS A MEMBER OF SAINT THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC CHURCH. HE IS PREDECEASED BY HIS SON JOSEPH KLAUSE, JR. HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS LOVING WIFE OF 36 YEARS, LUCILLE (SIRECI) KLAUSE OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA; DAUGHTERS, GAYLE (NICK) LIONELLI OF WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, LINDA DOWIE OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA; DAUGHTER-IN-LAW, JESSE KLAUSE OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA; GRANDFATHER TO ANALISA (Wayne) WHITING, LOUIS LIONELLI, JOHN GOMRINGER. ALSO NUMEROUS GREAT GRANDCHILDREN WHOM HE ADORED AND SPENT A GREAT DEAL OF TIME .HIS GREAT GRANDAUGHTER WAS ON THE NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY WHICH MADE HIM VERY PROUD. JOSEPH CAME ON BOARD AT AZTIL, A/C AS A WAY TO FILL HIS FREE TIME AND SOON BECAME A FULL TIME PASSION. HE WAS ADMIRED BY ALL AND HE WILL BE SADLY MISSED. JOE (POP) WILL BE IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER, EVERYONE KNEW HIM AS POP, THEY ALL LOVED HIM. FUNERAL SERVICES FOR JOSEPH WILL BE 11:00 AM, MONDAY MAY 9, 2011 IN THE CHAPEL OF TILLMAN FUNERAL HOME, 2170 SOUTH MILITARY TRAIL, WEST PALM BEACH. REPOSING FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS WILL BE MONDAY 9:00 AM UNITL SERVICE TIME. INTERMENT WILL FOLLOW AT SOUTH FLORIDA NATIONAL CEMETERY, LAKE WORTH WITH MILITARY HONORS BY THE UNITED STATE NAVY. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS THE FAMILY HAS ASKED THE MEMORIAL DONATIONS BE MADE TO ANY ALZHEIMER’S RESEARCH IN MEMORY OF JOSEPH.
