Lorraine Hill

LORRAINE (ELIZABETH) HILL nee Lock Age 86 of Murphy, North Carolina, formerly of West Palm Beach died peacefully on Thursday, December 16, 2010 with her daughter Nancy and son-in-law, Bill Garrod at her side. She was born February 14, 1924 in Muscatine, Iowa. Prior to moving to West Palm beach in 1961, she was a dental hygienist in Shreveport, Louisiana. She retired from Kirklane-Clifford O. Taylor Elementary School after 22 years and moved to Murphy, North Carolina in 2004 with her daughter Nancy. She belonged to thr Senior Circle in Blue Ridge, Georgia. She loved to do plastic canvas and crochet and she was never without one or the other. She also loved to play cards, especially “pennies” with the grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Clifford Hill. She will be lovingly remembered by her family, including her daughter Nancy (Bill) Garrod, her son, John (Debbie) Hill, grandchildren, Wendy (Larry) Jones, Jim (Brooke) Garrod, and Nicole Hill, great-grandchildren, Shannon and Shelby Garrod. She also leaves her cat, Peaches, who kept her company. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at TILLMAN FUNERAL HOME, 2170 S. Military Trail, West Palm Beach, the Rev. Steve Ruegg officiating. Burial will follow at Lake Worth Memory Gardens. The family will receive guests 3:00-6:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
