Mrs. Elizabeth Joan Barnes, 93, passed away Friday, May 27, 2011 at her daughter's Greenacres home following a brief illness. Mrs. Barnes was born December 5, 1917 in Boston, Massachusetts to the late John & Mary (Benson) Moran and she moved to the Greenacres area in 1998 from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Barnes is predeceased by her loving husband Frank L. Barnes. Mrs. Barnes was a retired information operator with a telephone company and attended St. Matthew Catholic Church. Mrs. Barnes is survived by her loving daughters, Therese Berkauzer of Greenacres and Joan E. Stiles of Hobe Sound, Florida; sister, Regina McPherson of Canton, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Beth MacLachlan, Kelly Stiles, LeeAnn Stiles, Nicole Murphy, Desiree Ott; great-grandson, Ryan MacLachlan, Scott MacLachlan, Ashley Murphy, Sidney Murphy; great-great-granddaughter Tyler MacLachlan; and dear friend Jonathan Soucy. Funeral Services for Mrs. Barnes will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 31, 2011 in the Chapel of Tillman Funeral Home with Father Aidan Lacy officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday 9:30 until service time. Mrs. Barnes will be laid to rest next to her husband at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. Local services are under the care of Tillman Funeral Home, 2170 South Military Trail, West Palm Beach, Florida. William G. Malloy Funeral Home, 625 Byberry Road, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 215-464-2600 will be in charge of services in Pennsylvania.
