Age 78, of West Palm Beach, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on June 13, 2011. Mr. Branin was born on January 26, 1933 in Red Bank, New Jersey to the late Robert & Whilda Branin. He graduated Red Bank High School in 1951 then earned his AA degree from Brookdale College in the 70s. Mr. Branin was a veteran of The Korean War serving in The US Navy. Mr. Branin was an instructor in Signal School for The US Army in Fort Monmouth, NJ. He retired in 1988 as a supervisor of quality control of product assurance. He relocated to West Palm Beach in 1991 to enjoy his retirement and volunteered for many years at Palm Beach County Thrift on Belvedere Road servicing computers. Mr. Branin was a member of Holy Redeemer Episcopal Church in Lake Worth. He was a 52 year member of Navesink Lodge #9, F & AM in Red Bank, NJ; a member of The Scottish Rite; a 32 degree Mason; a member of Crescent Temple Shrine in Burlington, NJ; member of VFW Post 2179 in Middletown, NJ; member D.A.V. as well as a member of the Amateur Radio Club in West Palm Beach. Mr. Branin is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gladys “Tippy” Branin; sons, David A. and William W. (Bonnie) Branin, Jr. ; daughter, Sharon (Stan) Searles; grandchildren, David, Jr., Christopher, William, III, Danielle, Michael and Alyson; great grandchildren, Maya and Lily. A Memorial Service for Mr. Branin will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 17, 2011 at Tillman Funeral Home, 2170 South Military Trail, West Palm Beach with Reverend Monte Tiller officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Middletown, New Jersey at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League.
