Mr. Richard "Dick" Campion, 86, Palm Springs, Florida passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at JFK Medical Center following a brief illness. Dick was born April 19, 1925 in Pottsville, Pennsylvania to the late Richard & Anna (Foley) Campion and moved to the Palm Springs area in 1972 from Bristol, Pennsylvania. He was a proud World War II veteran of the United States Navy and a retired clerk with the United States Post Office. He was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church and also is predeceased by his son Richard M. Campion of Davie, FL. He was a semi-professional bowler in Pennsylvania. Mr. Campion is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Fran (Ciotti) Campion of Palm Springs; daughter, Marianne Campion Hall of Palm Springs; sons, Danny (Sherry) Pica of Palm Springs and Raymond (Penny) Pica of Bristol, Pennsylvania; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; 2 nieces & many great nieces & nephews & friends. Funeral Services for Mr. Campion will be held 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 6, 2011 with Father Aidan Lacy officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be from 12:00 pm until service time. Interment will be Monday at the South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth with military honors. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made in his name to MDA or Alzheimer’s Research.
