Michael Robert Ranta of Nalcrest, Florida passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at his residence. He was born September 6, 1943 in San Rafael, CA to the late Talsto Robert and Marjorie Ranta. He was a lifelong resident of Lake Worth before retiring and moving to Lake Wales in August. He was a retired letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of the Our Savior Lutheran Church in Lake Worth and was a veteran of Vietnam, serving in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, softball, baseball and fishing in Minnesota. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Debbie Ranta, two daughters, Cynthia Vanson of Lake Worth and Sara Ranta of Lake Worth, one son, Brian Ranta of Lake Worth, two sisters, Robbie Boyce of Rockledge and Sally Brackney of Burnsville, MN.; one brother, Jerry Ranta of Edina, MN; six grand-daughters, one grandson and three great-grandsons. Funeral Services will be held 11:15 AM Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Tillman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2170 S. Military Trail, West Palm Beach, the Rev. Stephen Wipperman presiding. The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until service time at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will take place at South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth.
