Dolores C. Alvarez

Dolores C. Alvarez (Wela) Age 97, of Lake Worth, was called to be with the Lord at home surrounded by her loving family on November 27, 2012. Dolores was born in Cuero, Texas on August 22, 1915. She was predeceased by her husband, Juan and children, Juan, Jose and Delia. Dolores is survived by her children, Jorge Alvarez (Rosa), Dora Maldonado (Fred), Diana Ybarra, David (JoEllen), Dolores Castilla, Delfina Betancur (Rene) ; 21 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren. A brother, Eduardo Cortez, and a sister, Frances Gonzalez A devout Catholic Dolores resided in Palm Beach County area for the past 60 years, retiring from the Arch Diocese of Miami. Dolores was a wonderful woman, wife, mother, and grandmother always giving of herself. She was loved by many. Known to many as "Wela", she made a great impact to many in the community.The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, November 30th at Tillman Funeral Home, 2170 South Military Trail, West Palm Beach. A Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at St. Rita Catholic Church in Wellington, Florida followed by interment at Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery in Royal Palm Beach.
