Mae Carter Remington born February 19, 1921 passed away February 28, 2013. She was born in Langlade County Wisconsin, Township of The Sherry, the fourth child of eleven born to Setta and G.B. Carter. Left to cherish her memory are daughter Janet Flanigan and her husband John; son Jay Remington and his wife Laura; her beloved grandsons David Flanigan and his wife Jodi; Brian Flanigan and his wife Emily; Mark Prelich and his partner Bill Copley. She was a loved Grandma Great to Raelin, Brody and Teagan Flanigan and Kailey Beatty. Mae also leaves with fond memories sisters Carol Jacobs of Lake Worth; Sally (Don) Leaser and Olive Carter of Antigo, Wisconsin; a brother Dennis (Dorothy) Carter of Deerbrook Wisconsin; numerous nieces and nephews; cousins; treasured friends, Marie Stern and Rita Mae Strenski; and her furry friend, Scamper. Predeceased by her parents; a daughter, Ardis; 5 brothers and one sister. Mae grew up on a farm in Wisconsin where she developed her love of animals. She came to Florida in 1955 and worked as dining room manager at the Holiday Inn in Palm Beach then the banking profession working at First National Bank and Trust Company of Lake Worth and Community Federal Savings and Loan Association and at Mock Roos Engineering before retiring. She was artistic; loved painting, writing poetry, solving the daily crossword puzzle, interior decorating, growing roses, the color pink and dancing. A lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church in Lake Worth where she was an Elder. Mae requested a private Celebration of Life for family and close friends, which will be held on Sunday, March 10 at the home of her daughter. Donations may be made in Mae’s name to the Animal Rescue League or Hospice of Palm Beach county.
