Margaret Barber Warren, 90, passed away August 2, 2013 in the Hospice Unit at JFK Hospital in Atlantis, FL. Margaret was born February 24, 1923 in Tarpon Springs, Florida to Charles Grant Barber and Etta Frances Turner. Margaret was very proud to be a 3rd generation Floridian tracing her family roots in Florida back to the mid 1800's. Her stories about her family and growing up in Florida were wonderful history lessons. She loved to travel, visiting Europe and England several times and she truly cherished her two trips to Israel. After her retirement she was a volunteer with Hospice of Palm Beach, a "Pink Lady" at JFK Hospital, and one of the original volunteer ushers at the Kravis Center for 10 years. Margaret loved opera, reading, sewing, cross word puzzles, and was a great cook. She was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church since 1974 where she volunteered in the church office and for the Wednesday night dinners. She enjoyed her church Bible classes and her fellowship with her church friends. Margaret is survived by daughter, Barbara Warren Black, son Harry C. Warren Jr."Chuck", cherished grandson, Mike Black and his wife Kim, adored great-grand children, Kasey, Colton, and Cori. She is also survived by 5 nieces, Susan (Cecil) Maples, Joan Barber, Peggy (Rodney) Palmer, Charlene (Kevin) Cooper, Judy Kowalski, sister-in-laws Wilda Warren, Irma Warren, many great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry C. Warren Sr., her beloved granddaughter Kelley Warren, her parents, her sisters Mary E. Singleman and Betty J. Green, and a very special brother, Dennis L. Barber and his wife Melrose who was her close friend since the 5th grade. A special thank you to Grace Chandler and Robert Black for their many acts of kindness and caring help during the past two years. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 1:00PM at Tillman Funeral Home, 2170 South Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL. Her ashes will be buried at Ponceannah Cemetery, Paisley, FL at a later date.
