Mrs. Marianne Young, 82, of West Palm Beach, FL went home to her Lord Jesus , Sunday, August 11, 2013. Marianne was born May 22, 1931 to Charles and Bridget Richter of Chicago, Illinois, now deceased. Elder sister of Charles and William, both deceased. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 56 years, Gerald F. Young, Sr., and three children, Gerald F. Young, Jr., (Rose), Ellen Marie Thompson (Glenn), Donna Jeanne Hartwig(Rick). She was the loving grandmother to six grandchildren: Lisa Marie, Jerry III, Richie, Lindsay, Rebecca, Alexander, loving aunt to 12 nieces and nephews. Marianne graduated (1948) from Austin High School, Chicago, Illinois. She accepted employment with the U.S. Government and in a short time she and another former classmate were transferred to one of the CIA bureau's in Washington, D.C., as secretaries.During one of her hometown visits, she met and eventually married "Jerry". Marianne's interests, challenges and achievements were endless. She served with pride at age 18 as President of Ronald Reagan's fan club. (She even received a personal phone call from "Mr. Ronald Reagan himself") She was a natural leader including PTA President (3 elections), Brownies leader, volunteered with our former hometown, Tinley Park, Illinois Library, Women's JC unit. President and chairwoman and coordinator of countless seminars and fundraising events to benefit our beloved "Tinley Park Genealogical Society. Marianne was successful with her ancestors' search and found both sides came from Europe. Marianne's artistic talents include Landscape Artist, calligraphy and creating beautiful drawings from people's names. Marianne loved and supported our troops overseas with special gifts of needs along with thoughtful gifts at Christmas to show her appreciation. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, August 17, 2013 at TILLMAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 2170 S. Military Trail, West Palm Beach, the Rev. Aidan M. Lacy celebrant.
