Kathryn Lafferty Mott

Age 86, of Lantana, Florida, passed away at Hamlin Place Nursing Home on August 24, 2013 from complications of a paralyzing stroke. Kathryn was born in Caruthersville, Missouri on September 4, 1926. She attended Caruthersville High School in Missouri and later moved to Benton Harbor and Ludington, Michigan to raise her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Then on December 3, 2011 she moved to Palm Springs, Florida enjoying the warm sunshine vs. the cold, snowy winters of Michigan. Kathryn enjoyed going to the casinos, slot machines, lottery tickets, spending time with her family and watching The Price is Right every day, especially when Bob Barker was the host. Before moving to Florida, she was an assistant manager and waitress at Holly's Restaurant in Benton Harbor, Michigan and Hamlin Restaurant in Ludington, Michigan. She was thought very fondly of by all the customers, many of which were judges and lawyers. Kathryn was predeceased by her parents, Grover and Dixie Lafferty; ex-husband, Carl Mott, Sr.; sons, Carl Mott, Jr. and Eric Mott; son-in-law, James L. McCullough; great granddaughter, Katie Mott (her namesake); brothers, Grover, Henry, Bob, Bill and Joe Lafferty; sister, Edith Lafferty. Kathryn is survived by her children, Paulette McCullough of Elyria, Ohio, Larry (Sherri) Mott of Ludington, Michigan, Natasha (Allen) Ward of Loudon, Tennessee and Donna (William) Terrell of Palm Springs, Florida; eleven grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; brother, Johnny (Pat) Lafferty of Tunica, Mississippi; sister, Mary Alice (Jimmy-deceased) Roberts of Caruthersville, Missouri. Kathryn is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Per Kathryn's request there will not be a service. The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of "Lake Worth Davita Dialysis Center", "Vitas Hospice" and "Hamlin Place Nursing Home" for their support in her final days.
