Santo Siliato, age 98, was released to his Heavenly Father surrounded by his loving wife and daughters at home on March 31, 2014. He was born in Riposto, Sicily and moved to New York as a young teenager with his family. Santo, a man with unmatched zeal and tenacity lived a full and colorful life. A hardworking family man, Santo had a varied career ultimately retiring from the New York City Transit Authority in 1970. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Marie of 72 years; his four loving daughters: Josephine and her husband John, Elizabeth, Marie, Patricia and her husband Bruce, as well as grandchildren: Laura, John and Michele. Great grandchildren: Olivia, Joseph, Milla, Anthony and Declan, along with his two surviving siblings, Paul Siliato and his wife Jean; Mary Invenato as well as nieces, nephews and extended family members. Santo Siliato was predeceased by his grandson, Clifford Wilson. Santo leaves behind an amazing legacy of family dedication and a "non arrendersi mai" attitude. The lack of his presence will be deeply felt by many and his legacy will be indelibly etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Friday, April 4, 2014 at Tillman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2170 S. Military Trail, West Palm Beach, the Rev. Pete Del Valle presiding.
