Lyman L. Thorbecke

September 28, 1923 — May 27, 2014

Age 90, of West Palm Beach, passed away on May 27, 2014. Mr. Thorbecke was born in Evansville, Indiana on September 28, 1923. He was a veteran of World War II serving with The US Army. Mr. Thorbecke worked for 25 years as a quality assurance inspector for Pratt Whitney. He was a past Exalted Ruler of West Palm Beach Elks Lodge #1352. Mr. Thorbecke was predeceased by his wife, Nell Thorbecke in 2009. He is survived by his daughters, Judy (Pat) Longarzo and Alice Jean (Ray) Adams; grandchildren, Ray Adams, III, Danny (Hally) Adams, Michael Wayne Adams, Stephen (Kim) Longarzo and Anthony Longarzo; great grandchildren, Sydney Adams, Bryce Adams and Preston Longarzo. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 2, 2014 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 345 South Military Trail, West Palm Beach with Reverend Gavin J. Badway celebrant. Entombment with military honors will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 1st from 4:00-6:00 PM at Tillman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2170 South Military Trail, West Palm Beach. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.
