West Palm Beach Florida-Paul Bowen Lothrop, 90 years young, of Royal Palm Beach Florida died peacefully with his beloved wife and daughter at his side on June 13, 2014 Born & raised in Medford, MA then moving to Weymouth, MA where he raised his family before retiring to Centerville, MA and most recently living in Royal Palm Beach Florida for the last 25 years. He is survived by his loving wife & companion of 69 years, Mary Jeanette (Laforet). He was predeceased by his son's James, and Paul, as well as his parents, Walter & Marie and his brother Walter & sister Jean. He is also survived by his loving children, Karen Marie from Yarmouthport MA, Robert from Orleans MA, Mary Leona (Lee)from Port St Lucie FL, & Richard from Boynton Beach FL and daughter in laws, Kerry-Ann Reid Lothrop, & Pamela Sue Dubois from Cape Cod Ma. His pride & joy were his grandchildren, James Jay Baker, Andi Baker, Jillian Lothrop, Acacia Lothrop, Jenna Lothrop, Diana Lothrop, and great granddaughter Ava Marie Ripa, all living on Cape Cod. There are many other friends and family he leaves behind as well, most importantly the Fucile Family, especially Madeline and Dominic his dearest friends since Judson road, over 65 years ago, as well as the Hopkins family, the Fortuna family and the Sullivan family who all shared many wonderful times together. Paul was known for his love of his family and friends, his amazing work ethic, and love of fine cars. He hosted many great parties at Estabrook road, where friends & family gathered to share fun, laughter and great food. He had the greatest laugh that could be heard a room away, as he watched "Seinfeld" or "Mr.Bean". In 1944-1946 he served our country proudly in WWII as a corporal in the Marines, in the Asian Pacific, earning a good conduct medal before safely returning to Boston to start his civilian life. Paul's career in men's haberdashery began in Medford MA at Thomas Obrien's mens store and grew to New York City where he sold mens clothing for Oppenheimer for many years. After retiring to Cape Cod & then to Florida he continued to work for Jaguar of West Palm Beach, where he continued to impress all with his amazing devotion to an honest day's work. A memorial mass to celebrate his life will be at Our Lady of Victory in Centerville, MA on Thursday June 26th @11am, followed by a military graveside service in Bourne, MA at the National Cemetery at 2pm. Friends and family are invited to share a celebration of Paul's life Thursday after the service, information to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County, or to the Veterans Hospital (hospice) of West Palm Beach Florida. The family of Paul B. Lothrop wishes to thank Hospice of Palm Beach County, as well as the Veterans Hospital for all their wonderful care.
