Dr. Robert Bruce Pacetti, 79, father of five and retired dentist, passed on Dec 31, 2014. Born in St. Augustine, Florida Robert was a football star in high school and attended Florida State University on a football scholarship. After FSU, he served in the US Navy as a shipboard dental assistant. Robert attended Emory Dental School in Atlanta, Georgia where he graduated in 1964, 2nd in his class. Dr. Pacetti practiced dentistry for twelve years in St. Augustine and Sarasota, Florida. His work in dentistry led him to an interest in the effects of nutrition on human health. At the Page Clinic in St. Petersburg, Florida, he worked with Dr. Melvin Page on his principles of balanced body chemistry and was the associate director for three years. He educated patients on the health hazards of sugar and junk food consumption, decades before these were topics in the mass media. He served on the board of directors for the Southern Academy of Clinical Nutrition and was an active board member of the Price-Pottenger Nutrition Foundation and the Western Academy of Biological Sciences. Dr. Pacetti traveled extensively sharing the principles of Balancing Body Chemistry with professional audiences. One dream of his was to live on a farm, where he and his family would grow the majority of their own food which he did on a ranch outside of Sarasota, Florida. He was a private pilot, avid scuba diver and boatman, and pursued these passions all over Florida and the Caribbean. In one phase of his retirement, he lived in North Carolina where he ran a candle shop and worked as a white water rafting guide in the summer. Dr. Pacetti, in particular, loved fishing and was adept with a casting net, a skill he maintained well into his 70's. He is survived by his wife Shelly and two children, Soleil and Sage. Robert was previously married to Paula Parsons and had children Stephen, Bonnie, Stephanie, and two grandchildren, Kyle and Victoria Thomas.
