Doris L Bucchioni, 92, of West Palm Beach, Florida passed away at the Good Samaritan Hospital on January 10th, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Daniel T. Bucchioni Senior, and is survived by her sons Daniel T. Bucchioni Junior of St. Petersburg, Florida, Larry P. Bucchioni of West Palm Beach Florida, and John D. Bucchioni of Lewes Delaware. She is also survived, by four grandchildren, Adrian Bucchioni, Colin Bucchioni, Josh Bucchioni, and Craig Jared. Great grandchildren are Evey Bucchioni and Max Bailey Bucchioni. Doris also lives on through the spirit of numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews sharing her proud Boston roots. Doris's career was as one of the heralded WW2 "Rosie the Riveters", Newspaper Journalist, Real Estate Agent, and an active, life long, Community Volunteer. She grew up in Boston, raised her son's in Endwell, New York and later retired in Florida. Among her various non-profit roles while in upstate New York, she served as the first Secretary -Treasurer of the Maine-Endwell High School Athletic Booster Club, a volunteer at Wilson-Ideal Hospitals, scout leader, and as a champion of the Roberson Center for the Arts. In Florida, she served as her community association President, Vice President, national election campaign coordinator, as well as countless years of serving holiday meals at area homeless centers. Her enormous gift of selflessness and warm smile will be sorely missed by all of her volunteer colleagues, as well as friends and family. A private family service will be held in West Palm Beach, Florida with a memorial service, yet to be determined, in upstate New York this Spring. In lieu of flowers, Doris requested that any donations be made to the Maine-Endwell Athletic Booster Club c/o Maine-Endwell High School, Endwell, New York.
