George I. McArthur, age 91, a resident of Juno Beach, Florida, passed away on May 6, 2015. George was born on April 25, 1924 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. George is survived by loving companion Carolyn Savage, Juno Beach, three children, Catherine ( Brent ) Sullivan of Victoria Harbour, ON, Dale ( John ) Duffy of Waubaushene, ON, and Donald ( Christine ) McArthur of Hobe Sound, FL, six grandchildren, Paul Sullivan, Keith Sullivan, Matthew Duffy, Shannon Graham, Eric McArthur, Patrick McArthur and four great grandchildren, Ethan and Cassidy Sullivan, Riley Sullivan, and Hayden Graham. He also is survived by a sister Isabel McBride-Carrie of Toronto,ON, brothers William McArthur of Leamington, ON and John McArthur of Metuchen, N.J. and several loving nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his wife Edith ( Buchanan ) McArthur and brother James McArthur. George joined the Masonic order in 1968 and became a Master Mason. He belonged to the Scottish Rite, Royal Order of Jesters, and the Billiken Club. He was a charter member of Amara Shrine in 1975 and he became an incredibly active Shriner. As a Roadrunner he made over 150 trips to the Tampa Shrine Hospital. He supported the patient transportation fund mainly through the sale of his Tubal canes. He made and gave 100 donation boxes which have generated hundreds of dollars for the P.T.F. He enjoyed working the ball park, Arti Gras, and Bingo every Tuesday. As a charter member he supported the Mariners and participated in many parades and loved the Shriners circus. He was also on the Divan as Oriental Guide and as High Priest and Prophet, and Chairman of the 100 Million Dollar Club. George was a veteran of the Royal Canadian Airforce. He enjoyed working with wood, fishing, hunting and golf. When all is said and done, George was a decent man, a true gentleman, a loving husband and companion, a fun uncle, and a devoted father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. As per George's wishes, there will be no services. He will be buried in Canada.
