Mrs. Eleanor B. Slocum, age 86, of Lake Worth, Florida passed away October 15, 2015. Mrs. Slocum was predeceased by her parents, James and Eleanor Turner, her half-brother, Harvey Turner, her husband, James R. Slocum, Sr. She will be lovingly remembered by her family, including her children, Susan Flood (Robert), James Slocum (Fred), Steven Slocum (Michelle), Barbara Radovich (Glen), Kathleen Hockenbury (Peter), her grandchildren, Robert Flood (Rebecca), Steven James Slocum, Jessica Slocum (Raul). Eleanor will be dearly missed by her sisters-in-law Carol and Anita, and a host of nieces, nephews and special friends. Eleanor worked at the Excellent Tea Shoppe, then Francis Sweet Shop where she met the man she would marry and create a lifetime of memories. She also worked at the S.S. Adams Toy Company. She lived in Neptune, Neptune City, Wall Township, and Howell Township NJ before moving to West Palm Beach FL in 1986, and most recently, Lake Worth, FL. Eleanor was a Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout and Boy Scout assistant, Class Mother, and active in Little League and in the Wall Fire Co. #1 Auxiliary. The love shared by Eleanor and her family was very special. She enjoyed visits and phone calls with family and friends and loved to travel. She was a collector of butterflies, giraffes, and pitchers. A few things she enjoyed were knitting, caring for her plants and decorating her home for the seasons. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Antony Pulikal at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 345 South Military Trail, West Palm Beach.
