Alvah G. Dermott, age 88 of Lake Worth, Florida, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, December 13, 2016. A Lake Worth native, he served in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee. He was Co-owner of Central Market in downtown Lake Worth. He was a long time member and deacon of First Baptist L.W. Graduate of Lake Worth High School where he received the Dartmouth award for athletes.
Survivors include sons Thomas (Wendy) Dermott, Timothy (Janet) Dermott, daughter Tracie (Robert) Stephens. 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. One sister Helen Dicky, sister in law Catherine Dermott and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marie of 55 years and grandson Chad Dermott.
A celebration of life officiated by Robert Stephens will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Church by the Glades (formally First Baptist Church of Lake Worth).
