William J. "Bill" Hennessy

July 20, 1941 — December 31, 2016

William J. "Bill"  Hennessy, age 75, of Delray Beach, Florida passed away December 31, 2016. Mr. Hennessy was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, retiring with 28 years of service attaining the rank of Major. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, attended St. Edward's High School, graduated with a Bachelors from Ohio State, and a Masters from the University of Massachusetts. He was predeceased by his sister, Constance "Connie" Simon, and his stepson, Michael King and Michael's wife, Joan. He will be lovingly remembered by his family, including his wife, Louisa "Peggy" King Hennessy, daughter, Celia P. Hennessy (Maryann Bomer), son, Michael Hennessy (Geri), grandchildren, Liam Hennessy, Jordan Hennessy, sister, Donna Peak, former wife and mother of Michael and Celia, Judith James Pace, stepchildren, David King (Mary), John King (Maggie), Thomas King (Mary Jane)
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10:00 AM Monday, January 9, 2017 at St. Luke Catholic Church, Lake Worth, the Rev. Andrew Brierley celebrant. Inurnment with full military honors will follow at 11:30 AM at South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth. A reception will follow at 12:30 PM at Arden Courts W. Delray, 16150 Jog Road, Delray Beach, Florida 33446.
Arrangements are under the care of Tillman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2170 S. Military Trail, West Palm Beach.
