Wilbur A. Dodd

Wilbur A. Dodd, age 99, of Lantana, Florida passed away on June 1, 2017. Mr. Dodd was born on March 1, 1918 in Charlotte County, Virginia where he grew up on a farm. Wilbur was a World War II veteran and was married to Eloise Dodd, who died after a long battle with cancer. He then married Virginia Lynch Dodd and they were happily married for thirty years. Wilbur was a southern gentleman who epitomized the quiet. mannerly qualities inherent therein.

Wilbur was the oldest of seven, four brothers and two sisters who preceded him in death; Eggleston Dodd, James Dodd, Hezekiah Dodd, Wesley Dodd, Frances Elizabeth Dodd North and Doris Dodd Pryor. He is survived by five nieces, Diane Burroughs, Denise Bearden, Karen Wheatley, Kathryn Collins and Debbie Dawson; nephews, Steve Towler and Garland Dodd; sister-in-law, Jackie Scruggs Dodd; step-daughters, Clare Collins and Carol Kuhn.

Interment with full military honors will take place at 10:45 AM on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, Florida 33467. Please assemble in Lane #3 by 10:35 AM if attending services at the cemetery.
