Florence Elizabeth Self

Florence Elizabeth Self, age 93, of Palm Springs, Florida passed away at her home on August 30, 2017. Florence was born in West Palm Beach, Florida on February 2, 1924. She was a veteran of World War II serving with the US Marine Corps. Florence was predeceased by her husband, Richard B. Self; brothers, Byron Hock, Wilton Hock and Herbert Hock; sisters, Joanna Underhill and Leatha Harris. Florence is survived by her son, Robert Lee Self of Palm Springs, Florida; daughter, Valerie J. (Jose) More of Glenview, Illinois; granddaughter, Victoria (Kelby) More; nieces, Linda (Paul) Schuette of Blairsville, Georgia, Brenda (Gary) Hemstreet of Lake Clarke Shores, Florida and Carol Morano of Lantana, Florida. Florence is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

A Graveside service with Military Honors will take place at 11:30 AM on Friday, October 13, 2017 at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, Florida 33467. Please assemble in Lane #3 by 11:15 AM on Monday if attending services at the cemetery.
